Ali

Hi! My name is Ali.
I started my Dental journey in 2016 as a Dental Nurse in Western Australia. During this time I found my passion for good dental health. I went on to study and Advanced Diploma of Oral Health (Dental Hygienist) in South Australia and worked in Tasmania for a year before settling in Sydney late 2020.

I am passionate about educating patients on importance of good oral hygiene regime while undergoing their orthodontic journey!

In my free time I like to catch up with family and friends and explore Sydney.

Julie

Hi, I’m Julie, an orthodontic hygienist at Orthodontics at Tamworth. I’m based in Sydney but I fly up to Tamworth every second week with Dr Dinesh and our other hygienists. This is my fourth year working with Dr Dinesh and now with Dr Leigh too and I absolutely love getting to see our friendly Tamworth patients! I graduated from the University of Sydney in 2015 and have really enjoyed being able to work in both general dentistry and orthodontics. I’ll never be able to get over the excitement of taking someone’s braces off and showing them their new smile for the first time!

Alyssa

My name is Alyssa and I’m one of the Oral Health Therapists here at Orthodontics at Tamworth. I studied a Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Sydney and graduated in 2015. I’m a Sydney girl and I absolutely love my ‘tree change’ when working at Tamworth! It really does feel like my home away from home.

You’ll usually see me around the clinic placing braces, changing wires or giving advice on the best elastic colour combinations!

Outside the clinic you’ll usually find me at a fitness class or catching up with family and friends over brunch.

Working at Orthodontics at Tamworth is extremely rewarding as I get to know our patients on a personal level, watching their perfect smiles transform!

Mandy

Hi there – my name is Mandy and I’m an orthodontic hygienist here in my home town at Orthodontics at Tamworth. I graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2009 with a Bachelor of Oral Health and have worked in general dentistry ever since.

Since I was about 7 years of age I was always fascinated with braces and as hard as I tried, I could never convince my parents and my dentist that I needed them. That was until Dr Dinesh, Dr Leigh and Dr Alex listened to my concerns, and finally as an adult I have my braces! Not only did I get braces but I also started working at Orthodontics at Tamworth in 2019 and I love it – life is good!

I love being part of the journey with our patients and their families, the rewards are countless but one that stands out for me is seeing the pride that shines through from parents and carers who have been able to make it all possible.

Mimz

My name is Mimz and I’m one of our fly-in Oral Health Therapists here at Orthodontics at Tamworth. I was a University of Newcastle graduate and am currently based in Sydney. I truly love working at our Tamworth practice every second week.

In the clinic, my role involves putting on plenty of braces, and helping our orthodontists during adjustment appointments… My absolute favourite part of my job though, is giving oral health advice to help our patients take better care of their teeth and of course, taking the braces off at the end of their journey. Witnessing their reactions when they see their new smile for the first time is absolutely priceless!

Outside of work, I spend a lot of time looking after my very sassy cat, Tygah! On the weekends you’ll find me doing a bit of shopping or having a nice weekend barbecue with my family and friends.

Since working at Orthodontics at Tamworth, I have grown to become really grateful for the beautiful people that I get to work with – we’re definitely a family here… The OAT family!

Jemma

Hi there, I’m Jemma, an Oral Health Therapist here at Orthodontics at Tamworth. I completed the Bachelor of Oral Health degree at the University of Sydney where I am actually based. Although I live in Sydney, I truly enjoy coming to Tamworth every second week and meeting plenty of friendly new faces. I enjoy getting to know my way around town and finding all the local gems like Campgrounds Cafe!

Here at Orthodontics at Tamworth, you’ll see me around the clinic at adjustment appointments, taking off and putting on braces… Sometimes you’ll catch me sharing a story or two about when I had braces myself! I had some fair complicated orthodontic work completed when I was a teenager so I have plenty of personal experience and empathy to share with our patients. When I’m not working, you’ll definitely find me reading a new book, or catching up with friends and family.

I absolutely love my job at Orthodontics at Tamworth and getting to see the changes that braces achieve for a patient’s smile and their confidence. I love what I do and seeing beautiful smiles everyday!

Operations Manager

My name is Kristie and I have the privilege of being part of the amazing team that is Orthodontics at Tamworth. Being part of this team is a very rewarding role for me as I get to communicate and form relationships with not only our patients but their families as well. I also get to see patients progress through treatment and see not only how much their teeth change, but also much more confident they are to smile. It such an amazing feeling seeing the reactions of the patients when their braces are taken off.

My role at the practice involves being in charge of the day-day operations, managing the front office and liasing with our orthodontists.

I really enjoy what I do, and the environment we have created at Orthodontic at Tamworth is friendly, professional and relaxed, a place that is not only fun for us but also our patients.
