Hi, I’m Julie, an orthodontic hygienist at Orthodontics at Tamworth. I’m based in Sydney but I fly up to Tamworth every second week with Dr Dinesh and our other hygienists. This is my fourth year working with Dr Dinesh and now with Dr Leigh too and I absolutely love getting to see our friendly Tamworth patients! I graduated from the University of Sydney in 2015 and have really enjoyed being able to work in both general dentistry and orthodontics. I’ll never be able to get over the excitement of taking someone’s braces off and showing them their new smile for the first time!
Hi there! My name is Pete and I am the newest edition to the Orthodontics at Tamworth Family. I started here in January 2019 and graduated from the University of Sydney’s Bachelor of Oral Health Degree, Class of 2018. During my studies I was a recipient of the Denstply and Sirona Research Award and undergone clinical training at various Sydney and rural Dental Hospitals and clinics. Whilst attending University, I was also a Dental Assistant at one of Dr Dinesh’s other clinics and was lucky enough to join his lovely orthodontic family upon graduating. I help Dr Leigh and Dr Dinesh in a multitude of orthodontic aspects including changing your wires, giving some neat tips on maintaining optimum oral hygiene and taking off your braces. One of the most rewarding aspects of the job is always seeing younger kids who enter being quite dentally anxious but eventually love coming back through our doors and visiting us. And of course we cannot forget that moment when we get to reveal that brand spanking new smile to you!!
In my time off I enjoy playing tennis, going for walks, chilling with friends and eating lots of food. Next time you come in for a visit say “Hi”. I’m looking forward to aiding Dr Leigh and Dr Dinesh in helping you along your orthodontic journey here at Orthodontics at Tamworth.
Hi, I’m Courtney, I am one of the Orthodontic Hygienists and I have been working with the Orthodontics at Tamworth team since 2015. I graduated as an Oral Health Therapist from Sydney University in 2009 and have gained experience in every division of dentistry possible working in Melbourne, Sydney, remote communities in the Northern Territory and even Cambodia as a volunteer.
I am currently on maternity leave looking after my busy baby girl and doing some exciting behind the scenes work but my passion is being in the clinic engaging with patients and having the pleasure of watching their confidence grow as their smiles improve. I hope to get back to the Tamworth clinic soon as it has always felt like a home away from home.
Hi there – my name is Mandy and I’m an orthodontic hygienist here in my home town at Orthodontics at Tamworth. I graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2009 with a Bachelor of Oral Health and have worked in general dentistry ever since.
Since I was about 7 years of age I was always fascinated with braces and as hard as I tried, I could never convince my parents and my dentist that I needed them. That was until Dr Dinesh, Dr Leigh and Dr Alex listened to my concerns, and finally as an adult I have my braces! Not only did I get braces but I also started working at Orthodontics at Tamworth in 2019 and I love it – life is good!
I love being part of the journey with our patients and their families, the rewards are countless but one that stands out for me is seeing the pride that shines through from parents and carers who have been able to make it all possible.
